 He's going to win a job at one of the guard spots. There is no question in my mind.

 Our question marks are the other three spots in the line. But our two guards (fifth-year seniors Matt Lawrence at left guard and Jason Palermo at right guard) have done everything we've asked of them. I feel very confident they'll be excellent at their positions.

 Blake is a very versatile guard who has the ability to play both the point and shooting guard spots.

 It really is quite a remarkable comeback in my mind because this morning it looked very, very grim. We've got some spots of strength and obviously spots of influential weakness.

 I want to show it. I'm not the one who is going to talk. I'd rather go out and let my actions speak for it rather than talk a bunch of game. As far as I'm concerned, nothing is going to be given to me. In the back of my mind there's five spots and I'm competing for one of those five spots.

I'm really pleased with our linebackers, our secondary and our ends. But those question marks are big question marks. It's an older team with some question marks because of inexperience at just a few spots. I think it's a hard team to figure. How good can we be?

 It's just a blessing. When I came (to Tampa), I already set it in my mind to be the best point guard I could be. I knew playing Division II, it might not be as easy to get the recognition. But I had set my mind to work hard.

 All of the guys that are here right now are having to learn two or three spots. We don't have the luxury right now of saying, 'You're the left tackle, you're the right guard.' They're not exactly in a comfort zone.

 We lost a speed-merchant guard and a versatile big guy, so we went out to get a speed-merchant guard and a versatile big guy. We were able to fill the two spots we needed.

 Austin is what I love in a player. He is very determined. He can play both guard spots and does a great job defensively on and off the ball.
