 He's a pro. He gets it, ... He doesn't panic in big-game situations.

 It's awesome — I don't know a better way to say it. He's a guy used to being in the fire and doesn't panic when things don't happen exactly right. He's a good enough athlete to capitalize on those situations.

 When panic strikes, try to be calm. If that doesn't work, it's OK to panic. Just don't panic for the next 30 years. Learn from the experience.

 As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. You have to tip your cap to Mercy. I thought when they got down nine, they didn't panic. It would have been easy for some teams to panic, but I know a coach Kohs team doesn't panic. They just fought back and beat us to a couple loose balls to make a difference.

 He doesn't get into the calls that I make. Sometimes he'll talk about certain situations ... but he doesn't mess with you much on game day. Sometimes, he will come up to you and say stuff. A lot of times I've already seen it, but he's making sure that I've seen it. It's the job of a head coach to do that. He doesn't leave any stone unturned.

 He's a very smart hitter and he doesn't try to do too much. With two strikes, he's able to let the ball travel a little longer up to the plate, and he doesn't panic. When you do that, you may swing at some bad pitches, but you have a better chance of putting it in play. That's what our whole club needs to do better. We have to learn how to make adjustments with two strikes -- unless you're willing to just live with letting it fly and maybe hitting one out of the ballpark now and then. But in the long run, that won't get it done. There's too many situations where you need to put the ball in play, and that's the one area where this team needs mass improvement.

 Just this experience of getting to this point for next year will help us. The more situations we're in, the less we'll panic. With youth you'll get that. As soon as our skills improve, I think our panic will improve and we have a whole year to work on that now.

 It's just good to get out there and get into game mode a little bit. When you do so much working out on the side like I have been, you can only get so much of that. It just doesn't compare to game situations.

 There shouldn't be a sense of panic. He has the chance to impact the game with his bat but not if he doesn't cover the outside corner with his swing.

 Panic? I don't think we're in panic mode, ... I think if anything this was a good time to do something like this. I'm going to get an extra week before we have to play a game to get used to what his ideas are and what his thoughts are and hopefully move on.

 Tim has a lot of patience, ... You've got to give him credit for sticking with the game plan. He didn't panic. A lot of GMs in their first year are going to panic if something's going to reflect poorly on them. Tim has no ego.

 Just because he's my brother, that doesn't give him the right to step on another player's leg during a game. It doesn't give him the right to get into some of the other situations he's gotten himself into.

 Those guys don't need to practice. They've been in game situations, so it doesn't matter.

 We're very well aware that he was off the field too much in those situations. One thing that we have to be conscious of as we go is that doesn't happen again. We've got to rotate in our nickel situations.
