Before the game, coach ( Nate McMillan ) drew a big heart on the chalkboard. He wanted to see what we were made of. We came out and played well tonight.

 That wasn't really a match for me. I was already in the semis, so I just wanted to save my energy. Obviously, she must be playing great tennis but I just need to go out there and step it up if I want to be in the semis.

 My personal goal was to do whatever it takes to get (to Wayne Valley for the semis), and not even to make it to the quarterfinals. I wanted to get to semis bad. But now we have to settle for states, which we can do.

 We wanted to focus on the defensive end of the floor. When you hold a team to 49 points, that's always pretty good. The thing we really talked about at halftime was even though we were up 12, in past games, the 12 went to 10 and 8, and we let those teams hang around. We wanted to push that 12-point lead to 15 and 18, and concentrate on attacking.

 Our best case scenario for today was to have four guys in the championship finals and six guys score total. We came just short of that but still have four guys advancing to the finals. At this point, they got the job done. We needed four guys in the finals, and they are there. Tonight, I am going to tell them to have fun and relax. We had some great dives. Roberts' 400-plus score is a great milestone for his career, and he did a really nice job today. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it.

 We always knew a championship ring means way more than being an all-star, although we wanted to be all-stars. This is just secondary. It's not going to make me feel the same way as I felt when I was on that big stage in the finals when I won a championship. At the same time, it's going to be up there, because it's going to validate what I always felt about myself.

 I wanted to be in a band that gave bang for the buck. I wanted to be in the band who didn't look like a bunch of guys who, you know, should be in a library studying for their finals.

 I wanted to win a state championship, but third place isn't too bad after coming up here and losing last year. It wasn't easy trying to regroup after losing in the semis, but I didn't want my last match to be a loss.

 Our guys stepped it up and showed so much heart. These guys wanted it. They wanted to win.

 I play very little. I just got into the American Express Championship a few weeks ago, but I had already made a prior commitment, which had nothing to do with golf, so I didn't play. And I really wanted to play that.

 My agent and I felt this was the best fit for me. I definitely wanted to have the opportunity to potentially play for (a championship), hopefully get to the Finals. That's what I'm thinking about, and I think with this team, we're definitely capable of doing that.

 We wanted to be able to jump on them early. Then we wanted to work on some things, we haven't been on the floor in a while. We accomplished what we wanted.
