They're (investors) looking for the Fed to be absolutely aggressive and see the economy as slow as can be and to be measured in terms of understanding how important the consumer is at this point. And how important the stock market is to consumer confidence.

They bought a lot of branches from Fleet, when they merged with Fleet Boston, ... I think you can look for 30 percent gains in that stock for the next two year.

It's a consumer company that sells personal care items, ... At 11 times earnings, I think it is too cheap to be ignored. I think it is a $15 stock.

There really isn't any dramatic news to come out post-Fed ? we're going to get into that earnings void, the next meeting for the Fed isn't until late June, so I think the story is how well the pullback in this market will be contained.

This is a market that is assuming everything is going to get better. There's been too much commentary by the chairmen of these companies that these problems are inventory but everything is based on a turn of the economy ? that's what the Fed is there for.

I don't think the economy can really withstand the equity markets dropping down and giving back all of its gains ? that would really hamper consumer confidence. The one thing that has changed is psychology ? it's time to look forward to what the effect interest rate cuts mean for the economy.

I think it's emotional, because all the news out today is already known.

All eyes will be turned to the Fed. The market will be driven in and around the Fed meeting ? it could be a sell on the story because 50 basis points (a half-percentage point) is already built into the market.

There's no (economic) stabilization yet, but it now brings the possibility of continued aggressive Fed moves. We're four cuts deep into an interest rate cycle and we're going to get a fifth. That's going to help the economy down the road -- it's not a question of 'Will it?' but it's a question of when.

There is a substantial group of investors who believe the stock market will start to anticipate an (economic) recovery. The more rate cuts we get, the more likely the recovery is -- I'm looking at this as a 'buy the dip' opportunity.

It's time to start anticipating a recovery. Buy on weakness and look at tech because I think there will be some good stories later in the year ? the time to be fearful of another major drop in the market is just not there.

I think the year starts out very similar to how it's ending. Just because a stock is cheap doesn't mean it should be bought ? you have to look at the growth rate and I think the Fed lowering interest rates is going to be very important.

The reflection of what Cisco says is an absolute reflection of the economy. I am impressed by today's behavior and I think investors should believe the economy will recover.

This market, while not being the raging bull, certainly has some merits for investing. If you (cross) out technology, you have a market with a great deal of underlying strength.
