We still have not determined some things as far as how we're going to line our pitching up.

It looked like the Zach Duke we saw a lot of around the National League last year. That's a very good sign, especially when you start to get short on time in preparing for the regular season. Zach is starting to spearhead his way toward doing the things you want to see a pitcher do at this time of the spring.

His numbers didn't look good but I liked how he threw strikes and attacked hitters. Those are things we want to see.

He's on a mission to pitch himself into the starting rotation and right now he's succeeding.

I won't say where they are going to start. But he is the type of guy we are looking for to hopefully place in between two left-handers that have somewhat similar stuff and not give opposing clubs an opportunity to see the same type of stuff on consecutive days.

I think you have to be very good, and often very lucky to get here. We've just never been in that position.

He's a good little offensive player. He looks like he belongs in the majors. This kid knows how to play. And he's a winner.

I saw a guy, when I watched on television, who really liked the arena he was in. He had a face on him that said, 'I accept this challenge here.' You like that.

It doesn't get any better than that. It's what we've been talking about all spring - we went up there looking for something good to take a swing at.

He got 13 ground ball outs, and that's good for a nine-inning game. That's an indication of how well he pitched. That's a very positive sign ... It's March 18th, and you want to see your pitchers starting to sharpen.
