Paul pretty much has his way with us the whole night. There are certain rookies who come into this league and are ready to play and he is definitely one of them.

What we tried to talk to the guys about [Tuesday] morning was that we've got a long trip. We can't have a carry-over from game to game, quarter to quarter, minute to minute. We've got to stay with it and work on our game.

We waited too long to start playing. We kind of sleep-walked through 2-1/2 quarters. Then near the end of the third quarter, we finally started getting aggressive. We started driving the ball, and our defense picked up. We clawed ourselves back into the game.

But in the second half, they were putting them in and they ended it pretty quickly.

We've lost so many games like this; they've been close games and we're trying to fight to the end, but a play has to be made.

I can write that one off, ... as just something strange that happened.

We were probably one free throw away from winning the game. We weren't able to make it, and we weren't able to get (defensive) stops.

We lost Shawn too many times tonight. I know from experience that he's a very slippery player. If you relax, he'll slide behind you.

We started a different lineup and played with the same amount of energy, so it's difficult to tell (the difference). We played better tonight, but I don't want to put it on that necessarily.

We were soft. It's baffling.

I would never commit ahead of time that he wasn't going to play. I would hate to tell somebody they're not going to play or their minutes would be limited, then all of a sudden 6 minutes into the game put him out there. That wouldn't be fair. I think it's better that he stayed ready, but unfortunately he didn't get in.
