en We sat down and had a little talk with our bullpen and got everybody in roles. That's been a big help the last three games. Guys didn't know when they were going to pitch. Now everybody in our bullpen knows exactly when I'm going to use them.

en It creates a certain mentality among the other starters to go deeper into games. It makes your bullpen so much better. Everybody knows their roles. It helps save the bullpen.

en I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. en Our bullpen didn't perform up to par. We put in several guys to get out of tough situations and they didn't come through. It's a major concern. The last two years, the bullpen has been our strength. By and large, in those situations guys have come through for us. We're definitely working to address that problem.

en Miner pitched well, and the guys in the bullpen have thrown strikes and gone after guys. They're making some pitches when they have to. I'm really feeling good right now about the way the bullpen has pitched in these first two games.

en He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. We had 13 guys left on base. That doesn't help any matters. Our bullpen late in games has been doing a good job, too. They just got one pitch and took advantage of it. But guys are working hard.

en He has the ability to pitch one or two innings. He can throttle it up a little bit. Say he doesn't have a pitch working that day. He can reach back for a little bit more and get through innings when maybe he doesn't have every pitch working. But he competes well. He's learning how to sink the ball. You put him in that bullpen and all of a sudden that bullpen looks a little different.

en It doesn't bother him at all to pitch. His arm is feeling great. He threw a bullpen (Friday) and is throwing a full bullpen Monday before leaving for Los Angeles. It's going to be a minor setback.

en We've been trying all winter to build depth with guys that we think can handle a multitude of roles. We know he can pitch out of the bullpen, and more importantly he's got great makeup. Good character, good guy, a good competitor. That's our kind of guy.

en If he helps us pitch three or four games and we win, it will keep the bullpen continuity, ... It carries a lot more weight than if he were to pitch one game on Wednesday.

en I think our bullpen is one of the better bullpens in the nation. Instead of just having guys in the bullpen, we actually have an idea of what innings we're going to throw, so we can prepare better and get stretched out.
