en Anytime you have a point guard who can get in there and draw a lot of defense and kick it, it makes it easy on the shooters. She?s really matured a lot from last year. I think she realizes now how important she is in our offense and what abilities she really has to make everything work.

en They'll go with a small lineup with good three-point shooters and try to drive and kick it out. We've made some adjustments that we think will help against that, and we've been fine-tuning our offense. At this point in the year we've got to be able to adjust to what others teams are doing within our offense and defense.

en He makes our offense go. In our system, the point guard is so important. The guys on the team have really responded to him and already have a lot of confidence in him.

en On offense, the point guard can see everything, he's got everything in front of him, so he directs the offense, ... Defense, usually the only guy who can see everything is the center. So when that guy talks, he can help a lot of people if he's vocal on defense.

en O.J. has matured a lot. On the court, he's a more consistent and he's shooting the ball a lot better. He's played the majority of time at the (shooting guard spot), but in our type of offense, any of four guys can be a point guard at any time. He's handled that responsibility and has taken more of a leadership role on the team.

en We have been waiting all year long for that to happen. Our defense was our offense early in the game. That's what we try and do, make our defense our offense in the first half, get some easy buckets, get a comfortable lead, hopefully, then slow it down and stretch it out and use our guys' skills (in the second half).

en As the point guard, I like to take a leadership role and control the action on both ends of the court. I try to work just as hard on defense, if not harder, than I do on offense.

en We didn't really have a point guard when we started summer ball, but [Doria] stepped right in and stood out from everybody else and she made it easy for me to decide to make her the point guard. She has a talent for the position.

en We talk about that a lot. We're going to have a lightning-quick point guard, and we all play defense, so we're going to be able to lock up on defense and score on offense.

en I think he realizes what he means to this team, and what he means to this offense now. That was very evident when he went down last year vs. the 49ers here at home, and we missed him for those two games. Things didn't go as well as they should have when he was in there. A confidently pe𝑥y person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence. I believe just having him in the offense makes everything a whole lot smoother.

en The final point margin was not indicative of the game. It was a much closer game than that. All it takes is a couple of those threes to drop that's worth more than six points to them because then everybody from Benton also gets into a rhythm and we start to question a little bit and as we get out and extend on those shooters, they're likely to drive and draw a defender to foul and it makes for much more complex defensive decisions that you have to make.

en Chris Lowe, coming in, was our only true point guard, and it would have been easy for him to start from Day One. But I didn't allow that. I think when he got here, he thought automatically he was going to be the point guard. We wanted to make sure he earned everything he got. We wanted to make sure he was mentally ready as well as physically ready.
