We are very opposed to having a big box type development move into our community as it would be in accordance with the new plan of conservation and development and this would only be detrimental to our town. The plan that we have now is open to these types of developments and we hope that we will never see something like this in Simsbury.

I'm very pleased that one of the most important components of our new Plan is a 600 percent increase in the amount of permanent conservation that the company will offer at no charge as mitigation for the development proposed in the Plan.

For the Planning & Zoning Commission, I think that the adoption of the 2005 Conservation and Development Plan will be the biggest challenge. The draft plan will be a guide for the next 10 years.
