There's no need for me to put pressure on myself or try to chase a ball out of the strike zone. If I take the walk, I know he's going to drive me in like he has the last couple of weeks. Believe me, he's getting hot, so watch out. He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure.

The home run ball to Jason Lane was four inches off of the ground. It was a good pitch but he was able to put the bat on the ball, get it elevated and get it out. I might have been just a hair up in that inning but I was still aggressive in the strike zone.

I liked what I saw. He just got a ball up (in the strike zone) on the home run. I know what he can do. He's a ground-ball pitcher and he knows he's got to keep the ball down to be successful.

I think the main problem was he couldn't feel the ball in his fingers. I guess it's cold, and the ball is a little slicker when it's cold, and he really couldn't feel it. Consequently, he starts trying to drop down, different things to try to command the strike zone, and he had trouble commanding the strike zone.
