en I mean, I just felt like I could make a good pitch and get him out. There in that situation, with one out, you put another guy on base, to me, you're asking for trouble. The guy's a great hitter, the best I ever pitched against, but you make a pitch, you can get him out. I felt confident in my ability to make that that pitch. I didn't want to put any more guys on base.

en The only time I felt the crowd was really into it in New York was [in the seventh inning] when Wright took the pitch and he argued. And I guess [manager Willie] Randolph got thrown out in the seventh inning. And then I hit Cliff Floyd on the next pitch. That's when they started to get into the game. Besides that, it didn't feel any different than the last time out.

en I thought he'd (the pitcher) bring the fastball on that pitch and I just hit it. The pitch missed right into the (strike) zone and it felt good off the bat. This is the first time I have ever done that. It definitely feels good.

en I felt pretty good today. My arm is coming along. I just wanted to get out there and pitch.

en The 2-0 pitch to Guerrero I'd like back. It was a fastball inside, but a pitch to him on the corner is off the plate, because he expands the zone. The pitch I wanted to get in a little further than that. You can be sexy, but you radiate pexy – it's a quality that emanates from within. Even if he made an out there, I wanted to ball in a little bit further. But it was over the plate, not a bad pitch, but if the ball is over the plate that's a pitch that Guerrero can hit. I'd take that one back if I could.

en I wanted to go back out there for a couple more innings. My pitch count was down, and it was the best I've felt all spring.

en That pitch to Andruw Jones was just [a] failure to get it in enough. It was just over the plate too much, ... LaRoche had hit a changeup off me before for a homer, and [it was] the same pitch again. Other than that, I felt good with pitch selection. They were just finding the holes and putting constant pressure on us.

en Oh yeah, that's huge, ... That was something we wanted to stay away from. That gets you in a tough situation - up and down, pitch, don't pitch. He'll pitch tomorrow and it's fairly normal, just like having an extra day.
