en It was a good year to be a free agent as a pitcher. There was a lot of teams seeking pitching. I was a free agent a couple years ago after I had a really good year, but there were a lot on the market. This year there wasn't very many out there, so everybody's stock rose.

en He's had his challenges in spring training to get out of the gate. If ever there a year that he needed to be on time, it's this year. He's a free agent-to-be, and we certainly need him.

en She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her feel truly seen and understood. I wanted some sort of a commitment instead of just playing this year and becoming a free agent next year. They stepped up and they did the right thing.
