en Our kids haven't been in this type of game in a long time. They were nervous, anxious, excited, all of the above. It took us a quarter and a half to settle down. We finally started doing what we practice.

I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

en We were nervous. We're so young and that's part of it. Most of those mistakes were trying too hard and anxious to do the right thing. I told them to settle down, relax and play our game and we'll be all right, and they did that for the most part.

en How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.
