en It was back and forth, and McDowell is a well-coached team, coached by a legend. It was special. It was senior night. There were times when it was back and forth, and the girls just kept believing. They were not going to be denied.

en This is one of the biggest victories that our girls have experienced in a while. We're real young. I've only got one senior on the team, and it means a lot to them. They're a gutsy bunch of girls. We're short, but we're quick, and they would not be denied. I just feel grateful to have coached them. They're wonderful.

en I've coached some real good players -- he's the best player I ever coached. He's classy as they come, as humble as they come. This guy just makes people around him better, and that's the key to having a successful team. He's the easiest person I've ever coached.

en Our girls never gave up. They fought back and fought back and fought back. But every time they would make a big basket or we would foul. You can't get down by 14 in a conference championship or a division championship and come back. They're too well-coached. There's a reason why they're in the championship.

en We knew they'd make a run, come back at us a little bit. They're too good of a team, too well coached, but our guys were able to respond to their run and extend the lead back up there.

en It was a good game. When you beat a team like McDowell, one of the best-coached teams around, you feel good about that.

en They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges.

en I have not been looking forward to Wednesday because I have to find a way to properly address the team and Anthony. Senior Night is always emotional, but I think this will be particularly emotional because I've been as close to this kid personally as any kid I've coached.

en In all the years I've coached, I've never gone totally undefeated. This is a special group of girls.

en They do a lot of cutting, back screens and stuff like that. We weren't ready to handle the back screens and all the cuts. ... They are a well-coached team, and it shows.

en I was as proud of these guys as I was any team I've coached. We got down early and they battled back.

en They were strutting a bit and laughing and flexing their muscles. We saw it, remembered it, put it in the back of our heads. We just wanted to come out and make a statement. But that's a very good team. A very disciplined team. A very, very well-coached team. It's a team we could see again at the conference tournament.

en They played well. They're a well-coached team. It was two great teams going back and forth and it came down to rally scoring.

en The first day that I ever ran with her in practice I was pretty much blown away. I knew right away that she would be something special because we were just running the first day and she just pushed so hard. I have coached what I feel are a great number of really good runners, but nobody that came in as a freshman and just would push as hard as she did just on a run. I just knew that she had an inner edge that I hadn't coached yet.
