Of course it went through my head that we needed both of them. I went up there and envisioned that it was my 20th free throw of the day and hit both. It felt good.

It was tough, man. I thought I had him. But I beat (him) to the spot. I envisioned myself going to the free throw line. Obviously they (the officials) didn't see it that way.

I felt fine (at the free-throw line). I never feel bad at the free-throw line. I'm not really nervous. I just missed them. They just didn't go in. I'm disappointed. They were obviously big things for us to win the game.

We didn't want to put them on the line. We knew they were a good free throw shooting team. Their guards are good free throw shooters. We talked that maybe we were fouling the wrong people, but in the heat of the moment, what are you going to do?

It felt good to help the team out. I have to do what I have to do, and if my shot's not falling, I have to be able to rebound and defend. I think I did a good job of that. I was glad I hit that free throw at the end.

Shooting free throws has been a strength of ours all year. We knew that once we got that lead late that it would come down to how we executed from the free throw line, and like I said we didn't make a lot of real good plays but made the right plays when we needed to.

Our offense wasn't good toward the end and we just wanted to pull it out. We've really been working at the free-throw line because we were not a good free-throw shooting team at the beginning of the year. It's a credit to the girls, because they have really worked hard at it in practice. You can tell when they step up there they think it is going in.

They made threes, but the free-throw disparity we just couldn't overcome. I think this is my 19th or 20th year in the NBA -- I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever seen a stat sheet where two [different] players shot and made more free throws than our whole team. We made 10 more field goals than them and got beat by eight points.

The fact that we got to the free throw line was a key for us because it helped us get into a rhythm, and the way we were shooting we needed to get to the free throw line.

I'm just thankful for the free-throw line because we stepped up and made the free throws. Good teams make their free throws and we're getting to the free-throw line so much more this year than we have in the past.

Our guys were extremely fundamental catching it, shooting it, taking care of it. And then, of course, stepping up and knocking down free throw after free throw after free throw.

Although we're not a good free-throw-shooting team, I felt this was the first time it cost us a game. Overall, we aren't good shooters. That's why we struggle at the foul line.

The way I'm looking at it is, you have to have a good throw, everything has to be on and we're down. Sometimes you have to take risks and be aggressive. I felt at the time that we needed to take that chance to push the run across.

I think with free agency now, most of your team changes every year. We thought we needed to add to the defensive line to start out with. We felt we needed more depth. We felt (defensive line) was one area we needed to improve. And obviously we went out and got a number of defensive linemen.

At halftime we talked about being aggressive. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. We needed to get more aggressive and get to the free throw line. With our interior players we should get to the free throw line more than we did in the first half.
