 (Leonard) pitched great. He had his usual stuff. He dominated and kept them off the scoreboard.

 He struggled early on as a sophomore offensively, but defensively he's been as smooth as any shortstop I've had. He's really a great defensive shortstop.  St. Helena has a lot of confidence. They're playing good baseball. We had to put a number up in the first inning to put doubt in their mind. I don't know if we necessarily put doubt in their mind but it set the tempo for us.

 St. Helena played a great game. They're going to do well. They are a much improved team from years past.

 They know what's at stake. They know what we're all about, so we never have to talk about the winning streak and our goals. They know what our goals are, and our goals are to win championships. We don't talk about the streak. We just feel like that if we go out and we prepare ourselves fundamentally that we will win baseball games.

 We didn't go down easy. I think the kids were feeling the pressure, because every one was coming after us.

 We need to be fundamentally sound. We need to throw strikes and play catch defensively to be successful.

 We take all comers. We won't back down to anyone. They proved they were the No. 1 team in the state for Division IV. I think we're right there with them. All streaks come to an end.

 We've just got to take it one game at a time. That's all we're looking at. I told the kids if we can throw strikes and play defense, we'll be in every game. It gives us an opportunity to win, and that's what we're hoping for.
