It's just nice to get in there, get my legs under me and get into a game. The big key was that we played so well defensively. |
It's tough when you play as well as they do and don't get a win. |
No, I like the game even though it can be pretty rough on goalies sometimes. I like it when we're scoring them the way we were tonight. I don't think there's much the goalies can do, but just be ready at all times, and the defenses will figure it out and get better. As long as we win, I'm fine with it. |
That definitely can happen. But there will be a lot going on in the summer and that's why it's so hard to speculate right now. There are going to be a lot of things change here in this organization (as it replaces fired general manager Mike O'Connell), a lot of (player) personnel changes, so it's hard to say which way it will go. |
That was tough night. We didn't draw it up that way, that's for sure. We're trying to battle. We're trying to stay with them. But you play a good team like that, and they made some really good plays out there. |
That's the new league. Three-nothing isn't safe. You have to give them credit, too. We didn't just completely quit. They came really hard. We were able to get out of the second, which was huge, at 3-2, and we hung on. |
The leg feels really good. I'm back in the mix and I'm healthy. |
The year after I got drafted, I was average, the team didn't have a very good year and we had a lot of problems. My last year of junior, that's when [Bruins scout Gerry Cheevers] started showing up more and [assistant general manager] Jeff Gorton started showing up. It seemed like someone was there almost every game and other scouts were watching in case I went back in the draft. |
There was not as much pressure on me tonight knowing I hadn't played in a while. At the same time, if we had lost, we could have been eight points behind three teams. |
They really can't do too much wrong. |
We can feel bad for ourselves, but no one else is going to. We've just got to go out and battle for each other. We have no choice. |
We definitely controlled possession of the game. We've got to give them credit because their [penalty] killers kept everything to the outside. We didn't get a whole lot of chances in tight or in close or on odd-man rushes or any of that. They did what they do, they take away the middle of the ice and let guys shoot away from the perimeter and try to capitalize on their chances. |
We go 4 to 5 minutes in a row killing penalties and then you face that line. It makes it real tough, almost impossible. |
We just didn't get the goals we needed and nowadays, if you only score two, you're not going to win most nights. They have some really skilled players up front who are very underrated and they made some nice plays out there. It's tough when you play as well as they do and you don't get the win. |
We played well. We had a lot of possession and we did a lot of good things. We kind of cleaned up after the first, we cleaned up the odd-man rushes against us. You try to take the good with it. |
