For Yvette to win she would have to hit her routines without mistakes. |
I don?t think anybody?s good enough to make mistakes and still win. |
In the beginning of the season I started putting her up last in the lineup with the hopes of her dealing with the pressure in the end like this. She almost fell on floor, any other time she would have fallen. She almost fell on vaulting stepping forward [but did not]. So this is a big step for her. |
It was the pressure. This was the first time they had to be in a situation where we have a lot of good kids and there?s this many people watching, and there?s the pressure of the state meet. So they made little mistakes. |
Not knowing what happened in the past [in other sports] I think for any school to do that it?s an accomplishment. |
That was pretty good for one major mistake and without our top two athletes healthy. |
They still have not come to terms with the fact that they are some of the team leaders. They just don?t know their value yet. |
We had to work this year. Last year we had some pretty fast horses and any one of these athletes could win. But this year took more of a strategy, who?s gonna go when, who?s not. We need our best players at the end, but we also need them to be pressure ready. |
We want to do our most difficult routines. Instead of taking a more conservative [team] approach..It?s a lot like an Olympic individual final. |
We went all-out; we didn't hold back. We have been training all year for two meets on back-to-back days. We weren't going to change the script. |
We?re coming along. This is our last conference meet ..Within the next three weeks we can start to put it all together and put our best product out on the floor during the [state] championships and then the New England [championships]. |
Yvette was outstanding. If Jessica and Kristy were healthy, it would be hard for them to beat her. |
