It doesn't matter if we lost 1-0 or 10-0. We will try and come back and win the series [Sunday]. |
It was a little cutter that was up and out over the plate. I just tried to get the barrel on it and put it into play. |
It was great, especially since we've battled back a couple of times and haven't been able to close the door. Tonight we got the runs we needed and the pitching we needed. |
It was nice to face him. We will be doing this for a lot of years. |
It's a business. Yeah, I've thought about it, |
It's always good to win a ballgame, no matter when it is, especially our last game at home, to win it like that, |
It's like the Gatorade commercial, where the guy (marathoner) fell out right before he got to the finish line. It's not a good feeling. |
It's not a fun way to play, |
It's not a fun way to play. Right now there's a lot of pressure, and we've got to depend on other teams to help us out. That's not a good way to do it. We left ourselves in a bad position coming down the stretch, and now it's unfortunate that we didn't get things going until it was seemingly too late. |
It's something that guys normally do for years before they get comfortable to play at this level, and I'm just trying to hang in there and make the plays that I'm supposed to and bring my bat to the lineup every night, |
No, it's early. I'll be fine. If I go 4-for-4 tonight I'll be at .300. |
Right now we're going to play every game out and we'll see how the division ends up at the end, ... We're not going to lay down for anybody. We're still not mathematically out of it, and miracles have happened before. |
Right now, his main strength is he can play all three infield positions and two outfield positions. That's what's going to make him valuable to our team. If somebody needs a day off or goes down, he can slide right in there, pick up some at-bats and not miss a beat. |
Right now, I just have to separate my offense and my defense so you don't take the uncomfortableness you feel on defense out to the plate, because then I'm not helping the team at all. It's like two separate games. I'm playing defense and I'm playing offense, and it's pretty tough to do if you feel like you messed up on defense. I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much. |
That's Tony Clark. If there's anything you need, you go to him. He is like a guru around here. We're lucky to have him. |
