Historically, it's not like GM has always been a great company. It's had it's cyclical down periods. But you need to look at the import of GM, not as much a stock but as a barometer of the economy. |

Had someone told you 18 months ago that oil would reach $70 a barrel and gas would be $3.00 plus for a gallon, and the Dow Transports would only be 200 points off their all-time highs, you would have never believed it. |

I think there is a remote chance of GM being removed only because the Dow people probably don't necessarily like having companies in there with a junk bond rating, |
If a company is going to raise its dividend, they're sure they can continue to pay it. |

Rarely does the market lay out such clean parameters, ... Indeed, if you want to make a bullish bet, you can buy here, but you also have a clear point on the downside to close out positions should the market turn bearish. |
