I didn't get my hair styled today. I actually stuck my hand in a socket and this is the way it turned out. |
I don't know what the deal was, but we abandoned the run. We abandoned the run -- I don't know what it was. I can't sit here and tell you it was because of the fumbles or it wasn't, but for whatever reason it was, we abandoned the run. I think when we get to go out there and execute our game plan it's hard to beat us. Every time we become one-dimensional we end up losing. |
I even had a touchdown pass. But mine went to Chris Cooley. I know it's been a few years since a Clinton made passes in Washington, but I'm making it cool again. |
I feel pretty sore today, but I feel all right. The shin is still the same. It's sore, but it will be all right, |
I felt like last year, which I hope was my worst year ever at 1,300 yards, I needed to bulk up, I needed to learn more about this system. And I needed to take a bigger leadership role. ... It's just maturity man. It comes with age. |
I guess he thinks he's tough now, ... I was just telling him to remember that the Chiefs corners knocked him out, so I don't think he wants none of our secondary. |
I just feel when we're in our game plan, the running game has been there. Unfortunately, we've always been behind. We just want to play solid and not be one-dimensional. We get one-dimensional, we get in trouble. |
I knew if I beat them out, I'm in pretty good competition. That's an elite class of guys to beat out. |
I left as the champ, ... I've got to return as something else. I can't still be the champ two years later. Everybody and their mama wants to be the champ of something. I've given the championship belt up. |
I love it. I can't control what we do, but when we run the ball, I know I'm in the game and I can have an effect. |
I talked to Coach Shanahan in the Hall of Fame Game (in August 2004) and I came back out to Denver one or two times and saw Coach Shanahan, |
I think both teams turned out pretty well. Champ is a great guy and a well-proven player. They knew that when they got him. He's gone to four or five Pro Bowls. And with me coming off my first Pro Bowl, they knew what they were getting. |
I think having this change come upon me probably made me grow up and appreciate things more, ... It made me become a better man, become a leader, it sped up the process. Out there, my playing always (did the talking). Off the field, I was always in my own world. Being here, not having the (players like) Shannon Sharpe, Eddie McCaffrey or Rod Smith, it thrust me into that role and I'm enjoying it. |
I think it might cheer up some people out there. For the people who like it, I'm going to continue doing it, and for the people who don't like it, don't watch my press conferences. |
I think people recognize the talent level. |
