Any time you have a sudden, unexpected spike in enrollment, it can be a financial burden for the local districts, and we are working with them to make sure they get their money as fast as possible. |
Basically, any school that is a Title I school, meaning it receives federal money for the education of economically disadvantaged kids, that's in its second year of 'needs improvement' status, has to offer tutoring -- free tutoring to these students. |

Part of it is, some parents don't know. The schools are obligated to make parents aware of it -- but it's a letter from school, so sometimes you read those and sometimes parents don't. |
There is nothing that stops them, except the separation of church and state -- you can't be proselytizing. |
We hope that all students are keeping up with his or her work, getting targeted help ... and are engaged in their classes. If that's the case, then for most students the CRCT should not be something to be nervous about. |
With these quarterly counts, we'll be able to see if students are moving from system to system or moving out of state. |
