I finally led the first lap from the pole - I was happy about that.

I guess my engineer, Ray Leto, must have some magic in him because he solved most of the problems from this morning. There was still a little bit of push, so I just kind of let the car go where it wanted to go. More than anything, I'm a little bit relieved after that run. A run like this helps you gain the confidence you need to keep your foot down.

I have a lot of respect for Sarah and Lyn (St. James). I think we all look at each other as competitors, if we were driving against each other.

I have never been so nervous before, including last year's Indianapolis 500. Each time a car goes by, I look up to see if they are faster than I am.

I hope it goes better. The only way to keep the interest level there is if it gets better and better. I can only do what I can do. I never get frustrated with expectations from everyone else. I just know I go out there and give everything I have, and if that's not good enough, then it's not good enough.

I just didn't want to get left out. I still don't. I'm not a gear head at all.

I just want to see everybody before I left for the year, say bye.

I never let it get in the way of racing. I was definitely always to my car on time.

I put more pressure on myself than anyone else ever could, but I probably want this one a little bit more just because it is closer to home. But, because it's getting towards the end of the season and I'm hoping to have a few good races to close out the season, I really want to do well this weekend. I feel like I'm learning more, that I am better prepared for the events as we go along. I really am looking at these next few events as laying the ground work for next season.

I think it's important to get together the best package we can possibly have because the season is very condensed. We don't have time to play around. You really need to be fast and be there.

I think it's very flattering. I feel very lucky to have people talking about Formula One and to potentially have that as an opportunity.

I thought I heard 'green. My earpieces weren't completely clear all day. What I thought was a 'green' wasn't. I don't blame myself. I'm not mad at myself for it. I mean if somebody else is sitting in fourth trying to go for a win, you thought you heard 'green,' you'd probably go, too. I was being proactive. ... I apologize for anything, any kind of repercussions that happened from that.

I told him to move over a couple of times when he was sitting in my seat right next to my engineer. He was a very nice guy. And, gosh, did he want it.

I want to run it. If it's up to me, and he's leaving it open, I'd love to run this race. I think it's one of those races that you just need to stay consistent. Even with what I was doing out there, I was able to still not drop too far off in lap times with traffic. As soon as I pick up my speed on the track, hopefully that'll stay consistent with traffic. I want to do the race, so if he lets me, I'm in.

I was really surprised he was fastest. I kept trying to think as qualifying was going on, 'Who was faster than me in practice (Saturday morning)?' Everyone was my answer... But I really didn't think Briscoe was going to do it.
