I wouldn't bet against Carl Edwards. We think Carl can be as good in this business as anybody's been. |
I'd all but written off our chances for the championship, but they've turned it around now, and it's going to be a horse-race. |
I'm going to say that Carl Edwards -- I predict -- is the driver of the decade for not only Roush Racing but for all of Nextel Cup racing, ... I cant imagine anybody coming into the business in their first full year and being able to win four times, and won in the Busch car for the first time this year. |
I'm not sure what they're trying to do is legally right or is defensible in a court of law, but I want to be in this business, ... I don't want to jeopardize my sponsors and my drivers and our prospects in the near term, and too much distraction through an adjudication process would certainly not be in NASCAR's interest and would almost certainly not be in my interest and would very likely not have an outcome that I could be happy with. |
I'm ready for a big fight. |
I'm really excited about taking this group of five to the final 10 races, |
I'm really excited about the prospect of taking this group of five to the final 10 races. I'm sure we've got some bad luck coming. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't have to give back some of the good luck. |
I've been telling the guys that we hadn't peaked yet and if it came soon enough we might have a chance. I'd all but written off our chances to get in (the Chase) three races ago, but Robbie (Reiser, crew chief) and the guys didn't lose the faith. We've got it turned around now. |
I've had my finger on the trigger, but not Matt. He's stuck with all his guys, all the strategy, and it's paid off. |
If (a racer) gets a chance to race more, he'll do a better job for you. If they put themselves in a situation with good equipment, it doesn't worry me. What worries me is the off-the-track stuff. Carl Edwards is off jumping dirt bikes now. That worries me. |
If NASCAR manages to get in front of Toyota and tell them what they want to do and enforce it, they'll be the first sanctioning body that ever did that. I'll watch with some interest, I'd like to say from a safe distance, but my distance is not far enough to be safe. |
If owning a NASCAR team is so great, then ask Rusty Wallace and some of these other guys why they're not jumping in the water. Because you have to be borderline insane to want to do this, given the financial risks involved. |
If Roush Racing (or) if Mark Martin can't do his business at Kansas City or Charlotte or Atlanta, then we're in desperate trouble and definitely not on our game, ... What happened here is reflected in that the cars were well-driven, they were well-prepared by hardworking teams and the judgments that the crew chiefs made were excellent. |
If the commitments we make to our sponsors and amongst ourselves aren't held, well, then there's chaos in our world. If we're going to do that, then why even write it down. |
If we cannot have more than our share of broken parts, and wrecks that we can avoid, I think my drivers and the venues that we've got in front of us will be very good for us, and we stand a very good chance, |
