It's a continuing issue with this city. This is a city being run without any concern for the wishes of the citizens. |
The commission has stated on a number of occasions that it would comply with a judge's order if he ordered them to put the voter's proposed amendments on the ballot. This is not their own private city in which they can unilaterally disregard the law merely because they don't like it. |
The real issue is misrepresentation to the court. There are Florida Bar ethics rules against that. |
They understand that development has to occur. Citizens should have a right to determine how their community is shaped. |
This issue has coalesced a group of very determined individuals that will become a political force in this city. We'll see if the current commissioners take notice. |
