I don't know if everybody played better just because he was there, because he's only on one line. I thought all the lines did the little things that had to be done. Turnovers were minimal. Our positional play was one of the better. I thought our power play moved the puck and had great chances. That's all you want. |
I don't know if it's satisfying, or if it's a reward to the players who kept their focus and their commitment to each other. They never looked back, never criticized, never complained. Just did their job. |
I don't look at it as a step back by any means. |
I don't think any of us is really pleased with where we find ourselves. You can look at a lot of different reasons, but I don't believe you ever look for excuses. |
I don't think right now that we're looking at anything other than playing well every night and letting the end results take care of themselves and chip away at points. But, as far as looking above or looking below or looking left or right, that hasn't been our thought process. Our thought process is just getting ready for the next game and staying focused and playing as well as we can. |
I don't think the cap will play as much of a role as people think. I think the date will play more of a role. |
I don't think the night could have gone any better from the beginning to the end. |
I don't think there was anything that didn't go into the decision. The schedule, the timing, the way the team is playing. We sat down and looked at everything. |
I don't think we were really competing against the rules. But early in the year, we had some experiments. We took a step back, trying some things based on the team we had built. We realized it shouldn't be that different, with a couple of minor adjustments. |
I have no problem with Marty whatsoever. He has been there and will be there. That is going in the wrong direction. We've got to play better in front of him. |
I haven't even thought of it that way. Common sense would say that it helps us, but in saying that, it's not something we were hoping would happen. We wanted them to have as much success as they could. |
I never get discouraged. 'Discouraged' and 'disappointed' are two different words. I'm disappointed in the results... I'm not discouraged at all. I see a lot of very positive things. |
I rate Scotty right up there with those great names. He was a big part of all of our (three Stanley Cups) success. |
I really wasn't thinking about it, to tell you the truth. |
I tell you what, if there is any team we've had that deserves to get into the playoffs, and we've had some great ones, (it's) this team. The way they responded in the whole second half of the season and overcame so many little things. |
