I think so. This year I want to spend time with my family, do some TV and see where the fire burns after the season. I was watching Remember the Titans the other day, and it made me think about the emotions you go through. There's nothing that moves you emotionally like coaching. You have high highs and low lows, and to be able to have an impact on young people, to get a group of young men together and accomplish a goal, that is a real exciting challenge for me. You don't get that in any other profession. |
I thought the effort was there, but we just weren't making our shots. |
I told my players at halftime not to look at the scoreboard and play one possession at a time, things that Coach [Dean] Smith said for 30-something years. And then I screwed up, and I looked at the clock. I got conservative. |
I was disappointed the way we played in the first half. We have to play smarter. |
I was disappointed we lost but pleased we didn't quit. |
I was proud of the way we cut the lead. We could have hung our heads and it could have been a 20- or 25-point loss. It's not a moral victory, but at this point you have to look at the entire season and I'm proud of those guys. |
I was very disappointed in the first half with the way we played. We were not sharp. Maybe I tried to get them too jacked up. Maybe we were too aggressive. We didn't execute well. |
I'm disappointed. We just didn't perform very well and we couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. ... When you know it's one game and you're done, the basket can look a little small. |
I've never been more disappointed after a victory than today. |
In a way it's kind of nice. I can go to the mall with my wife and not be recognized. |
It didn't really occur to me until yesterday, ... I was hanging some pictures in my office and there was one of Michael Jordan taking that shot, and I told one of my players how there were 63,000 people at the Superdome that day and that's when it hit me. |

It doesn't rally concern us, because he didn't attend Philly Lutheran. Paul had already graduated. |
It's like any divorce. If you see your ex-wife at the grocery store, either she's going to throw a bunch of eggs at you, or you're going to have a genuinely enjoyable conversation. To be able to see those guys and laugh with them and reminisce a little bit was good for my soul. |
It's the best time of the year, and these three days can create memories that will last a lifetime. I told them to embrace it and not get nervous about it. |
