All week we stressed not giving up the big play. That is what this defense is built around - speed and not giving up big plays. We just gave up a couple (Sunday) that cost us. |
And it's our homecoming week. As a coach, homecoming has always bothered me, but it's one of those things you've got to live with. Hopefully we can stay focused for this Charter Oak game. |
As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight. |
Bean dinners, as well as ramp dinners, are historically fundraising political rallies for Southern West Virginia. |
By no means is our investigation limited by these two, ... These are allegations we all take seriously and we intend to bring anyone involved in this case to justice. |
Chandler ran the ball very well for us tonight. We changed some things at half time that allowed him and Edwards to take over on the ground. |
For some reason people think they can pick on him because he's on the shorter side, but he played on that team last year and he's pretty crafty. So often times, they're pretty disappointed with that strategy. |
Glidden really showed us that. They made a point to cut him or double team him to keep him from making a play. We decided to move him back and we have some capable linemen to move in there to fill those spots. We weren't worried about the defensive line so much. We just got a bigger linebacker in there and he had a couple of nice, full tackles. We're talking the wrap, pick 'em up and drive them into the ground. |
Hamburg?s not going to show us anything we haven?t seen. I think we?re well-seasoned and ready for anything that can be thrown at us. |
He turned Franklin into a gold mine. |
He wanted to see how truly profitable his customers were. He had an intuitive sense -- we've got all these great customers (we think) but we need to find what it's costing us to serve them. His intuition was correct. |
He was in the right spot for that fumble. Nobody hit (the Elk Horn ball carrier), ... He just lost the ball and it went flying into (Arnold's) arms. It was kind of a Christmas gift. |

He's been a big help, ... I've only been here two, three weeks and he's taught me more than ever. I want to thank him. The whole thing is overwhelming, this being my first NHL camp and still hanging in there. Hopefully things work out for me. |
He's planning to be back for Saturday's game, but that's all contingent on how his mother is feeling. |
