I'm worn a little thin tonight. We never really were [in it] after the first two innings.

I've always been intrigued by Ichiro batting third. I was when I was managing against him, and I have been since I've been his manager. It's not out of the realm of possibility that it could happen (someday). There's nothing like that being considered now. And there won't be, unless I talk to Ichiro first. And that's not on the calendar.

I've always said that the biggest separator at the Major League level is [a] person's mental toughness and mental consistency.

I've been very, very pleased with how he receives the ball and how he calls a game, the pitches he's called. It's difficult to learn the pitchers, but he's worked hard at it.

I've never seen a young kid with the potential that this kid has. If he stays healthy and keeps his head on straight, he has a chance to be as good as we've ever seen.
I've seen him in simulated games, but I'm interested to see him pitch, ... I don't know that we'll see him at full strength, but it will be nice to get a look at him.
I've seen him sharper, I thought he was all right. He gave up two runs, probably should've only given up one. He was a little erratic with his command.
I've talked to a number of guys, but we haven't met face-to-face with anyone.

If Felix had a mouthful of nickels, he couldn't give you change for a quarter. He doesn't speak much, he just competes.
If Felix had thrown 105 or so pitches he wouldn't have gone back out there, ... But we thought he could go to 115 to 120 pitches easily. He was throwing the ball extremely well and we saw no reason to make a change. I think it was the right decision and I would do it again.

If he continues to pitch the way he did, then he'll have plenty of opportunities to throw shutouts.
If he keeps making plays like that, ... he's not going to have to hit at all.
If he stays healthy, we'll be able to get him back on track.
