The kid made a mistake. He's sorry that he did what he did, and we're sorry that he did what he did. He served his suspension, so now let's just go forward with it. Let him do his best, and we'll make the best decision that we can make as it relates to this team. |
The offensive line didn't give up any sacks. The line did a nice job and Reuben did a nice job. |
The penalties picked up in some crucial situations and on two punt returns and on a field goal that would've clinched the victory. We missed the re-kick to add some drama to the game. |
The punter did good and for him to go out in the conditions and punt the way he did was good. He made a good tackle on the return. I'm sure his confidence is lifted after that performance. He's been in the NFL and it's a production business and he went out there and produced and helped us to win. |
The specialist indicated they're going to try some remedies to get it worked out. Exactly what they're trying, I'm not sure. |
The team is making slow progress. We did some things better in Texas. Not good enough grant you, but better. |
The thing I've been talking to my team about is that even though it's Ohio, it's still one game and we still have a lot of games we're going to have to play after this one. |
The young kid, Charlie, did a pretty decent job overall. He handled himself well in situations where he was in trouble. He was able to get out of trouble and maintain his cool. |
There's one guy. He's right down the street in Columbus. The initials are A.J. |
There's some concern, particularly when he misses the makeable field goals, |
They (NFL officials) told us the same thing last year about taunting, ... As guys began to talk more to the opponent, that's where you can get altercations or fights break out. That respect thing happens. The NFL looked at it and said, 'Okay, if we can eliminate some of this one-on-one thing that's going on that causes ill will, then the game will be a better game.' Anything that's directed towards an opposing player is going to be called. There is no excuse. |
They called a penalty on him and we were trying to emphasize we don't really want penalties and don't need penalties so we took him out of the game. I hope (our players) understand that penalties will get us beat. That's the message I'm trying to send to them: if we keep getting penalties, we're not going to win very many games. |
They didn't say. We may know more tomorrow. It might depend on when they run tests and cultures and what they might find. |
They had some ability here. Every NFL team has ability. We came in and changed some systems. We decided to do something a little bit different. Maybe all of the pieces here don't exactly fit, but we added some guys to the team who we feel will help us build this team to where we want it to be. |
They have put more emphasis on (the Browns running game), particularly after he got his 1,000 yards and people realized who he is and what he is as a runner. |
