One of the positives is you would anticipate that it might be more of a spark for the offense. A negative would be, whoever your opponent is, they are going to bring every blitz known to man at him. If he can survive it, it will be a positive. If he can't survive it, it will be a negative. |
One was the attitude that the players had going in. Then we were able to make some plays and get ahead. |
Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points. |
Part of the reason we wanted to get veteran guys in here is because of the experience, |
Phil is a good personnel guy. I talk to him. He talks to me. I think I can have a little input. |
Phil is a good personnel guy. We have a good working relationship just like I have a good working relationship with everyone in the building. |
Reuben continues to run hard and give a good effort. We'll keep having him run to give us some life. |
Reuben had a little drama in his life early in the week. But I think that with the support of his teammates, he felt like he had the team behind him. |
Reuben has a foot up on William, |
Reuben runs hard and he runs through guys. |
Simon has done a nice job for us as far as his attitude and work ethic. He had determination about making this team and he showed that early on. I think another thing that he has been able to do is make a role for himself on special teams. |
Since we don't have a show team this week, we'll roll those (young) guys in there and let them work, |
So far they've done a nice job, particularly in pass protection. The experience we've added to the team has paid off. Hopefully, it's not the kiss of death that we start talking about them. |
Some of that was by circumstance. We wanted to move a guy and they wanted two guys in a trade. That position, looking at it, wasn't as productive as it needed to be. I felt we had other people who fit better, so some of them had to leave. As football coaches, you like to think you can coach everybody and anybody, but sometimes you have to recognize that you can't. |
