I think the approach to the bye week wouldn't have been any different if we would have won the game, ... We want to try and improve the team. We are going to work on areas where we are deficient. |
I think the system, as it currently is, probably was a slight disadvantage to Charlie and myself. Everybody assumed we were going to the Super Bowl, which they were correct, and they didn't want to wait until February to have a chance to talk to us again and maybe make a decision about a coaching job. I would have to say it was a disadvantage. |
I think they gathered together and played better (in the second half). We didn't play as well and they were able to slow him down. |
I think they'll try to work something out and get a long-term deal done. But if he's not in their price range, they'll do what they do and look somewhere else. |
I thought Jeff came in and did a reasonably good job for his team. He avoided the bad plays. |
I thought we were going to be a little bit more representative than we were. We did too many things that caused us to lose the game. |
I wanted to address the team before Lee had the chance to ask me what was going on, |
I wanted to tell the team it was (false). Lee didn't come up to me to ask what's going on. That's why I wanted to address the team. |
I would hope that he's experienced enough to help us when he comes back. |
I would like to think the game transcends it all, and that's the thing both Marvin and I were working toward, and hoping to get. In the NFL, the color of a coach's skin doesn't matter. We're just two football coaches playing each other on Opening Day and the guy who can get his team to play the best on that day should win the game, and I think that's what we both want from our position. |
I'll tell him, 'Go run. |
I'm as excited as you see me now, because I know we have 14 left to play, |
I'm disappointed in the way everybody played. You don't do good when you lose. You can't be happy about anything, can you? |
I'm going to give Trent the benefit of the doubt and give him a chance to try to work out of this slump that he's in. Because he's a professional and has seen a lot of things, I think he has the ability to work his way out of it. |
I'm not divulging which way I'm leaning, |
