First you have to actually teach the kids how to swim. Second, you need to show them what a meet is and third, they need to learn how to be a team. I think that they did pretty well with all three.
It went very well. We had 10 kids come out for the team. You need to start with the basic nucleus and grow from that.
It's been really easy to bond. There is a lot of enthusiasm, joking and having fun.
We hope to be part of the Nutmeg Conference next year. It will make us a little more competitive.
What is really fun about it is that you almost always set a new record at every meet.
