A lot of guys sort of opened it up tonight. Offensively we had hits up and down that lineup. It was a group effort, and I?m proud of the kids for putting an effort in that was enough to get us a win. |
After seeing both of those guys, I would say that they should be at the top. |
He?s had a little bit of a sluggish start, but he?s coming along pretty quick. |
He?s more valuable to me as a utility player. He went wherever there was a hole, whether it was at center or third or short or on the mound. He always told me he?d be willing to put the gear on to [to catch]. |
He?s quick. His feet are quick, his hands are quick. Everything he does is all fairly quick. It?s not necessarily bulk and strength, it?s just he gets his bat through the zone. |
I know that they only graduated maybe one kid. So I certainly would have expected them to be improved, and apparently, they?re performing. |
It definitely changes the complexion of the game. Somebody like Comer that?s been on the field for all my life, you hate to see something like that happen. It does change the complexion for sure. Our guys handled it pretty well. They were pretty professional about it. They were certainly emotional about it and concerned as soon as it hit him. I think they reacted perfectly. |
It seemed to be exaggerated. He went from really being a kid to turning the corner in a very short period of time. You could tell, the arm strength, the foot speed. He was really a different person from 15 years old to 16 years old. |
They?re left-handers, and I think both of them know how to pitch. |
We made the plays. Every ground ball, we were fortunate enough to have it right at us. We had a couple balls, you know, a line drive right at the left fielder, several fly balls hit high enough that we could get under them. Some balls definitely went our way tonight. |
