 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. |
| Thee do we serve and Thee do we beseech for help. |
| Their apostles said to them: We are nothing but mortals like yourselves, but Allah bestows (His) favors on whom He pleases of His servants, and it is not for us that we should bring you an authority except by Allah's permission; and on Allah should the believers rely. |
| Their apostles said: Is there doubt about Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? He invites you to forgive you your faults and to respite you till an appointed term. They said: You are nothing but mortals like us; you wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship; bring us therefore some clear authority. |
| Their cry in it shall be: Glory to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting in it shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. |
| Their Lord gives them good news of mercy from Himself and (His) good pleasure and gardens, wherein lasting blessings shall be theirs; / Abiding therein for ever; surely Allah has a Mighty reward with Him. |
| Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness-- they do not see. |
| Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. |
| Their shirts made of pitch and the fire covering their faces / That Allah may requite each soul (according to) what it has earned; surely Allah is swift in reckoning. |
| Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! / And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! / And the foremost are the foremost, / These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), / In the gardens of bliss. |
| Then Adam received (some) words from his Lord, so He turned to him mercifully; surely He is Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. |
| Then after sorrow He sent down security upon you, a calm coming upon a party of you, and (there was) another party whom their own souls had rendered anxious; they entertained about Allah thoughts of ignorance quite unjustly, saying: We have no hand in the affair. Say: Surely the affair is wholly (in the hands) of Allah. They conceal within their souls what they would not reveal to you. They say: Had we any hand in the affair, we would not have been slain here. Say: Had you remained in your houses, those for whom slaughter was ordained would certainly have gone forth to the places where they would be slain, and that Allah might test what was in your breasts and that He might purge what was in your hearts; and Allah knows what is in the breasts. |
| Then after that you will most surely die. |
| Then Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Apostle and upon the believers, and sent down hosts which you did not see, and chastised those who disbelieved, and that is the reward of the unbelievers. |
| Then are they sent back to Allah, their Master, the True one; now surely His is the judgment and He is swiftest in taking account. |
