 And, O my people! how is it that I call you to salvation and you call me to the fire? / You call on me that I should disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I call you to the Mighty, the most Forgiving; / No doubt that what you call me to has no title to be called to in this world, nor in the hereafter, and that our turning back is to Allah, and that the extravagant are the inmates of the fire; / So you shall remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah, Surely Allah sees the servants. |
| And.surely they purposed to unsettle you from the land that they might expel you from it, and in that case they will not tarry behind you but a little. |
| Announce to the hypocrites that they shall have a painful chastisement: / Those who take the unbelievers for guardians rather than believers. Do they seek honor from them? Then surely all honor is for Allah. |
| Are the unbelievers of yours better than these, or is there an exemption for you in the scriptures? / Or do they say: We are a host allied together to help each other? / Soon shall the hosts be routed, and they shall turn (their) backs. |
| Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it. |
| As for the boat, it belonged to (some) poor men who worked on the river and I wished that I should damage it, and there was behind them a king who seized every boat by force. |
| As to those who do not believe in the hereafter, We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, but they blindly wander on. |
| Ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them; this is because they disbelieve in Allah and His Apostle, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people. |
| Ask the Israelites how many a clear sign have We given them; and whoever changes the favor of Allah after it has come to him, then surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil). |
| Assert their relationship to their fathers; this is more equitable with Allah; but if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brethren in faith and your friends; and there is no blame on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, but (concerning) that which your hearts do purposely (blame may rest on you), and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. |
| Attend constantly to prayers and to the middle prayer and stand up truly obedient to Allah. (The Cow 2.238) |
| Aye! My communications came to you, but you rejected them, and you were proud and you were one of the unbelievers. |
| Bad women .are for bad men and bad men are for bad women. Good women are for good men and good men are for good women / O you who believe! Do not enter houses other than your own houses until you have asked permission and saluted their inmates; this is better for you, that you may be mindful. |
| Because of their wrongs they were drowned, then made to enter fire, so they did not find any helpers besides Allah. |
| Behold! you are they who (may) plead for them in this world's life, but who will plead for them with Allah on the resurrection day, or who shall be their protector? / And whoever does evil or acts unjustly to his soul, then asks forgiveness of Allah, he shall find Allah Forgiving, Merciful. |
