I'd love to have that story like Dustin Hoffman or John Malkovich, ... Who was it that followed some woman into an acting class and then they suddenly thought, 'Oh this is cool.' and that's how they became an actor. I'd love to have a story like that, but I don't. I've just been doing it since I was a kid and enjoying it. |
I'm absolutely convinced that if we could simply sit down together and truly listen, we'd be taking a giant step toward peace in the world. It's the only way we can achieve the greater understanding necessary to solve our collective challenges as members of this community - but more importantly, as citizens of this world, |
I'm disappointed, but they are business people, and they made a decision. I've said all along that Atlanta was the best choice. Something good will come out of this. ... I think there will be somebody else who will come here and take advantage of everything that we have to offer. We can't look at this as a disappointment. |
I'm extremely excited to move forward. Baseball has been great to me. It's been a great experience. But I'm definitely ready to move on. The lifestyle - people don't realize how difficult it is. A lot of things happened to me this off-season. There are things more important in life (than baseball). I decided to step away. |
I'm giving Jerome the day off; he'll come back next week, ... He's been doing great. I try to do it periodically. I think where he is in his career I have to be pretty smart about it. He looks like he's in pretty good shape right now. He's in pretty good form. He's been through a few training camps, I think he'll be fine. |
I'm going to do damage with it. I'll make sure that my work gets out. That no publisher will ever be able to tell me to take things out. Because I'll put it out myself. The more money I earn, the less they can stop me. Where I come from it's called fuck you money because I don't have to take an ounce of shit from anybody. |
I'm going to evaluate this weekend because if we lost that game (against Arizona), we'd be 1-3 and the roof would be falling in back home. But I thought we gained so much here. I learned that they have much bigger toughness than I have. They're all still standing, and I think that tells a little bit about their character. |
I'm not going to say anything nasty about golf. I have a standing offer - and I've told this to Bill and Mike - that if they ever do a charity golf thing again, I will get knickers and a tweed cap and, never having touched a golf club in my life, I will take mushrooms and do a full eighteen holes. As long as is televised. |
I'm pleased. I guess this is what I was expecting of us at this point in the season where we were a better team. We had better race cars. Not necessarily the cars being better, but the setups relating to how I like to drive, the comfort and feel. I think it's given me more confidence. It's building confidence in the team. |
I'm speechless. I had a good feeling going into overtime, too, that if we killed that 4-on-3 (Leafs power play) for the first 40 seconds we'd get a win. Even going to a shootout I felt my chances were pretty good. We lost in a tough way. But it was a good game for me to build on. The next win will be even sweeter I guess. |
I'm sure that will have to be one of many factors he'll have to consider once this season is over with. For me, there's no other line I'd want to play behind. That's a no-brainer. But that's easy for me to say after 13 years in the league. I'm not looking for the big payday like he is. He's in a little bit different boat. |
I'm trying not to classify this as a rebuilding year. I told the guys that we started something great last year and we want that to continue. ... I sat them all down and said, 'We have to work as a unit, work as a team.' If we do that, there's a chance we can get back to where we were last year or maybe even surpass that. |
I've always felt that an Englishman should lead the national team because they would have a greater commitment and connection to the supporters. If they want to approach Steve I would not stand in their way. It would break my heart for Birmingham City but I would be very happy for Steve, who is a terrific, honest manager. |
I've been corresponding with his people and different people within MLS and within our organization have different contacts down there to try and get a hold of him because he's not the easiest guy to get a hold of. From what I've heard back, the feedback we've gotten, is that he is en route. I'll believe it when I see it. |
I've been involved with Fantasy Football for more than 10 years now, and I'll keep competing each year as long as I'm still having fun. I like to play sports, and I like to compete, but I also have a wife and three daughters. This lets me stay involved with the sport I love and still spend quality time with my family too. |
