I want the team to be better, ... So it is kind of unfair to be selfish and not try and help my teammates out. I am very competitive, though, and I do want that backup job and I'm playing as hard as I can to get that. I'm not going to not talk to somebody, especially Tim who I've known now since our rookie year together. We came out the same year, so we met at the (scouting) combine. |
I was surprised by how nice he was, ... The thing about Tony was, I never saw it as a feud, I saw it as being a bit of camp old knockabout, like Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Tony takes it all more seriously than me, because he's a man and wrote all this 'daggers at dawn' shit. I thought we were having some camp fun at each other's expense. So on my side, there's nothing to forgive. |
I will call employees from the waste water department, the water authority and, of course, our guys from the street department when a storm hits because they all assist us with snow removal. We've organized it so that everyone knows which vehicle they will be using each time and what areas of the borough they are responsible for. We just all work together to do what needs to be done. |
I will undergo another medical examination on Monday and Tuesday, that will give further evidence of how severe the injury of my knee is. By then, it will also be clear, how much treatment will be required and how long it would take me to be fully restored again. Depending on this, we will find out a new date for my fight, and I will start to renew my preparation as soon as possible. |
I would love for all U.S.-Mexico games to be here. I would love it. By the time the next qualifying rolls around, I'll be watching from the stands, but I'd love to be watching U.S.-Mexico here, that's for sure. The guys all love playing here. The field's always in great condition, the fans are great, and the whole situation is just awesome for us. The entire city is a great host too. |
I would think (general manager Billy Beane) doesn't want to pay someone $1 million to play at Triple-A, but my wife and I talked for about two days about it and we couldn't leave that money on the table. I have to provide for my family. The way I view it, it puts pressure on them -- if they don't want to pay me $1 million, maybe they can pick up part of it and move me somewhere else. |
I wrote the lyrics, ... It was cool because it was the first movie I got, and I was just sitting at home in my disgusting apartment writing lyrics. ... I sent it back and forth to Rob [McKittrick, the film's writer/director], and he was like, 'All right, try to punch this part up, punch that part up, include a little blurb about being a busboy.' We went back and forth about 20 times. |
I'd like to give doctors credit, but I know from personal experience that these 'detailers', as we call them, are well versed in a very narrow area in terms of the drug, and they can be very convincing. They will find a spot in the waiting room where you can see them through a crack in the door. Then, when they've got your attention, they'll ask if they can get five minutes with you. |
I'm not one of those guys trying to throw Bill Musgrave under the bus. I look at it, maybe I didn't play well enough last year to help us win just one more game to get into the playoffs. I mean, that's the easy fallback to say it was all his fault. I think, me personally, I'll take some of the responsibility for that also. I could have done some things better to make that thing work. |
I'm very excited that our exhibition is coming to Little Rock. I think it will hopefully be helpful in explaining what African art is, and hopefully people that might not normally come to the Arkansas Arts Center will consider it and come and appreciate it. It may stimulate new art there in a new way. In New Orleans that's what we call lagniappe, a little something extra for nothing. |
I've been doing the same job for the last 10 years and I just feel that I'm getting a little bored. I'd like to do something that allows me to remain in the tech industry, but at the same time I'm not sure I'd be making what I make now. I'm not necessarily looking for something that would pay me more, just something that I will like doing more and if that means making less, so be it. |
I've been really impressed by what some of the Spanish-language stations have been doing in the larger markets, and I think you can't deny that kind of presence. There is a huge audience out there, 41 million plus. Half of those people don't watch any English-language broadcast. We thought it was time to step up [and reach this market], and wanted to do it with some of our hit shows. |
If I can get an out with one or two pitches and use my sinker or cutter, I'm better off, ... I stopped being a village boy, thinking that I can throw any stone, any rock through a wall, and started thinking about being a guy that could last longer, to take some off my fastball and not to depend only on throwing hard. Mixing movement on my fastball has made me a more complete pitcher. |
If we'd had an African-American or Hispanic driver for the Cup series, our deal would have been done two months ago, ... Everybody wants to be a part of that. Everybody wants to be the first to put a (minority) guy on the track ... It's not about winning races. It's about leaving a legacy where you'll have minority kids involved with NASCAR because Tim Brown got involved with NASCAR. |
In fact, ST was one of the first companies to initiate an environmental management program, which was established more than ten years ago. By voluntarily participating in these programs, and by setting ambitious targets which are more aggressive than required by the communities and countries in which we operate, we continue our strong commitment to international conservation efforts. |
