It’s not a mission of mine to end the year No.1, ... I know if I win everything I have a very good chance, but I just want to focus on the matches I have to win and the tournaments that I’m committed to for the remainder of this year. Of course I’d take another Grand Slam title over the No.1 ranking any day, but I am proud of the fact that I’ll probably finish another season at least in the Top Three. That’s no mean feat. |
Key to the adaptive enterprise is the ability to quickly transform business processes and for these changes to be easily reflected in the supporting Enterprise Applications. From an Enterprise Application perspective the importance of gaining a good understanding of the current processes cannot be underestimated, as on many occasions the software is unfairly blamed for problems that are in fact due to inefficient or poor processes. |
Kids can get bored just looking at things. But if they can touch it, throw it, pull it or push it, they really enjoy it. I should know this. I have two children (Tyler, 10, and Alyssa, 4). Right now our target-age group is up to probably 7-year-olds. But we get kids 8, 9, 10 and 11 who have a really good time with it. I want kids to walk out of here saying they've had a really good time. For me, it's really rewarding to see smiles. |

Maybe it is the war or the movies or because this generation was bred on radio comedy, but I found out that they want bombastic stuff with a lot of drive. They have little time for whimsy. It varies, of course, from town to town. The Hartford audience was sharper on some things than the Buffalo audience. Political jokes go, depending upon how the community votes. A Negro audience will pick up subtle comedy quicker than anyone else. |
Michael's performance was pretty good given his position early in the running order. We are therefore reasonably happy with his performance. Unfortunately, we had some problems with Rubens' car, which was not as good in the afternoon as it had been in the morning. Now we will have to investigate to see why that happened and hope we can have a good race. It's a shame, as Rubens could have been in a much stronger qualifying position. |
My dad served in the [Army] for 23 years, and a couple of people I talked to grew up Army brats like I did and they continued to pursue it. I have a lot of respect for them. They are protecting our country and sacrificing their lives. And they have families they don't get to see a lot just from being deployed and going over and going over and serving our country. So they have much respect from me and I'm sure a lot of other people. |
Obviously, it's a great thing to honor your country and to get that type of experience on such a big stage, but we're a little bit selfish in wanting those guys back as soon as possible. With so many new faces in camp this year, ideally you'd like to have all of them around as much as possible to establish chemistry and continuity in your lineup. But it's a great experience for Vernon, who's getting the most playing time of anyone. |
Oh, yes, I think Tazewell will score. I believe this - we are going to have to play as well as we have all season to be in position to win. Anybody who thinks we can just roll in there (Tazewell) and dominate those Bulldogs needs to look a little closer at what they have done. For instance, look at last week-everybody talks about Abingdon passing for more than 300 yards. Tazewell rushed for about 450. This will be a heck of a game. |
One day the factory sports coach, who was very strict, pointed at four boys, including me, and ordered us to run in a race. I protested that I was weak and not fit to run, but the coach sent me for a physical examination and the doctor said that I was perfectly well. So I had to run, and when I got started I felt I wanted to win. But I only came in second. That was the way it started. |
One of our scouts loved him and we considered him. Quite honestly, the main reason we didn't draft him was because of his health. He had the foot injury in college. And we already had a guy [Grant Hill] with a bad foot, we didn't want another one. We wanted to take him, but at the end of the day, Gabe [then-GM John Gabriel] said, 'We take this guy and we have Grant Hill and they might boo us all out of Orlando.' And Gabe was right. |
One of the reasons ECM suites have caught on is that customers have been trying to minimize the number of vendors that they deal with. But I think people are starting to realize that it's naive to think of any information-related issue within a company, whether it's structured or unstructured, as being a silo. Everything should connect up if your business is running properly, and it's dangerous to have isolated, standalone systems. |
Other than Dick Vermeil and my family, no one has been a bigger influence on my life than Bill Dooley. I am hopeful that his toughness and the love pouring in from all those he touched will pull him through. I was with him on Monday when this first occurred, and I have stayed in touch with the family throughout the week. Coach Dooley has done so much for college football, and I ask everyone to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. |
