 I forgot out there on the stage to thank my cast. So if I could do that now, I want to thank Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz and Donald Rumsfeld. I thought the love scene between Cheney and Rumsfeld brought a tear to my eye.

 I think this team is as good as Dick Cheney's shooting skills. This is a recycled Bush-Cheney political team that represents the policies that the vast majority of Californians are opposed to, whether it's Supreme Court nominees, whether it's the environment, whether it's education.  If President Bush told Dick Cheney to do something, rather than the other way around, that would be a first for this White House. If, as these documents suggest, President Bush authorized Dick Cheney to authorize the leak only after Dick Cheney first authorized the President to do so, then the whole situation starts to make a little more sense.

 If Bush really wanted to make a statement that he's making changes and bringing in new blood, there is some other people who have to leave, (Defense Secretary Donald) Rumsfeld most particularly, but maybe some others also.

 And Cheney is like a member of the Bush family. The president would no sooner push Cheney overboard than he would Jeb.

 I think Rumsfeld has lost some important allies on (Capitol) Hill and in the senior military. But I don't see how the president would find it in his political interest to get rid of Rumsfeld unless he also wants to change policy and use Rumsfeld as kind of a scapegoat or whipping boy or whatever. But there doesn't seem to be any evidence that the president wants to blame anybody or change his mind.
