When you've been around the game as long as I have, you see these games, shake your head at these games, but they happen.  Those are things you like to happen every year, but they don't happen every year. Obviously, it hasn't happened since. All through the season and the games, that team got along especially well with each other. That carried over in life and in reality has gotten much stronger.

 We want to win it this year. You have to win the first game, though. The morning games are very, very odd games. You can't predict what is going to happen. You never know what your kids will do. We were in a fog during that 10:30 game [against Evanston last year].

 Four teams in seven days? Wow. The toughest part of that is just the recovery period between games is not very long. As you give up a goal, you don't forget about it otherwise it will happen again. At the same time, you don't let it get to you. I guess it's the same thing when you have a lot of games in a row. If you lose one of those games, you can't dwell on it.

 We saw some things that we can work on. In Wilson we got away from our passing game, and it hurt us, but we had three games this week, and I think they still have a little on their minds about this weekend. We can make good things happen for us out of these games (lopsided wins) if the girls let it happen.

 I don't think we were ready at the start of the game. It was one of those games. It can't happen. It shouldn't happen. But sometimes it does.

 We just got blown out in some games and that's not going to happen this year. I can't put a number on how many games we'll win this year, but we will be more competitive. Our kids have made a commitment to the weight room that they will be there 80 percent of the time in the summer and 90 percent of the time for our linemen.

 As a coach, you always like the idea of controlling your own destiny. That's been our motto all year, just to go out and win our games and not worry about what other teams are doing. If we continue to win the games that we play, only good things will happen for us in the long run.

 Heroes know that things must happen when it is time for them to happen. A quest may not simply be abandoned; unicorns may go unrescued for a long time, but not forever; a happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story.
