My role is to proverb

 My role is to come out and be more aggressive. I could tell we needed some scoring inside, but obviously it wasn't enough.

 I felt like I needed to pick up the scoring. I felt like we hit a little dead spot. If I wasn't aggressive, I don't know how many points would have been up on that board.

 I always knew I was capable of scoring, but that wasn't my role on the team, especially last year. With Chuck going out, we don't have a lot of experience and being a leader on the team, I have to be aggressive. I still look to pass the ball first, but I'm getting more opportunities to score and I'm trying to take advantage of it.

 If you watch the offense, they try to get him a lot of touches inside because of his decision-making. They go inside-out. It's not about Jai Lewis. Through his own abilities, he gets people to play a role. He was content scoring his 14 points a game and doing what he had to do.

 Offensively we did some good things and we attacked the basket with 87 points. When you're scoring inside you're going inside. Our defense wasn't stellar but we got the job done.

 Our job is to get it inside. The outside shot was there, but we needed to keep scoring in the paint.

 We have to execute offensively. We need balanced scoring from the outside and inside. We need to make easy baskets-inside scoring, lay ups, stuff like that.

 Hassan wasn't scoring in the first half. I had to do something about it. I was more aggressive than usual.

 This year we moved him to the inside. His scoring went way down, but his rebounds have hit double figures every game. It's a new role for him. He works hard and will do anything.

 I went in with the mindset that I want to win this so bad. I felt like I needed to put myself in that role and in a position to go out there and help this team. I knew I had to be more aggressive on offense and I've got to be a threat.

 With us losing Kelly last year, I figured we needed more of a leadership role, so I kind of stepped into that. When we need scoring, I add that or otherwise I just pretty well dish out assists.

 I wasn't really helping my team out in the beginning so I thought if I could be a little more aggressive inside, I could open up more on the outside. I know they'll make the shots.

 I just thought I needed to help the team. It wasn't going too good inside, so I said I'll take one outside.

 We knew we needed to slow (Bass) down. But she gave us fits, because when she wasn't scoring she was getting the ball to someone else who scored.

 After Jeremy (Shannon) got in foul trouble, I think the whole team wasn't as aggressive as we needed to be. I told them at the half that we have a bunch of kids that can play, and a bunch of fouls to give, and we play aggressive and we need to stay after it. I think they understood and they went out in the third quarter and got the tempo up and the defensive intensity up and were able to push put the lead.
