Toyota has been the proverb

Toyota has been the leader of the pack in environmental technology, and they will probably continue to be. Many of its rivals were at first not so aggressive in hybrids, but now we see everyone joining.

Hybrids continue to refute the argument that their cost of ownership fails to justify their slightly higher sticker prices. Perhaps more importantly, this is the first time that two hybrids, the Ford Escape and the Toyota Highlander, dominate the SUV category. This is also the second year in a row that one vehicle, the Honda Odyssey, swept the minivan category.

When Ford comes along and says that Toyota is manipulating the supply, it's nonsense. Toyota developed it all. Toyota does a lot of it in-house. Someone is pointing a finger at Bill Ford saying, Why don't you make more hybrids? So he has to point the finger at someone else.

This is good news because while BMW has been an industry leader in diesel and hydrogen technology, it hasn't been a factor in hybrids. No one knows for sure which technology is going to win for the future, but BMW can't afford not to look at other choices to learn which is the most economic and cost-efficient.

Toyota and Honda have had hybrids on the markets for years now. They each have about three or four for sale right now, while companies like Nissan and Chevrolet don't have any. Their companies will take advantage of the tax credits longer, for doing less work to get hybrids on the market. Is that really equitable?

Toyota is doing something its U.S. rivals can't -- building plants rather than closing them. That is going to broaden (Toyota's) regional reach in the United States and in North America. And that is a big advantage right now.

It is a fledgling market, particularly for us, and we need to establish our reputation as a leader in this technology in order to achieve our longer term goals. Why should Toyota [the hybrid market leader] get to have all the fun?

Toyota is looking to do with hybrids what Volvo did with safety, trying to get people to pay more for hybrids. It is very similar to the debate a couple years back, whether you want to have air bags or not. American automakers were fighting it tooth and nail. Volvo got people to pay for it.

There are so many more hybrids out there. There?re fewer companies, but more hybrids and more technology; it?s a nightmare to keep up with the changes that are going on.

Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura.

It does still seem like Andy's the leader of the pack and will continue to be, ... but we're all doing our best. I think we all hit a little slump at one point ... but we're all, I think, better and wiser for it now.

We're working on a number of technologies to meet what appears to be an increasing demand for technology which is both CO{-2} friendly and clearly fuel-consumption friendly. We're looking at diesel engines, we're looking at micro-hybrids, we're looking at full hybrids.

There's certainly going to be more crossovers shown, more hybrids, and small cars. The new Toyota Camry hybrid is coming out and that's going to be huge.

It's amazing how Toyota can cut costs even further. This definitely gives them a competitive edge over their rivals.

We expect Toyota to continue to do well given the strong U.S. economy and the company's good financial situation. Toyota is profitable and investor friendly, which encourages investors to hold their shares.
