In every case the proverb

In every case, the failure to reset the hand-operated switches has led to trains running onto the wrong tracks and derailing or colliding with locomotives or rail cars or both,

I really like the steam locomotives. I definitely like where it takes us, to little communities that still have their trains running, taking us places I probably wouldn't have gone and are pretty neat.

December is an anomaly. We had an array of trouble. We had contractor problems, where contractors weren't able to clear the tracks in time for rush hour. We had a broken rail, missing third-rail shoes, locomotive engine failures, and then we had the (New York City transit) strike in December. That affected all the lines because of slower boarding and congestions. We had trains stacked.

As they're sorting cars for each destination, the locomotive or the set of rail cars has to go back and forth ... and change the routing of rail cars to another track, ... I know it's very frustrating to see that.

I can't give you exact numbers, but our failure rate (for locomotives) has risen. We are very tight on locomotives. We're short two, and the others are not only old but they're also being used more, and their reliability simply isn't 100 percent. So, when one breaks down, we really have to scramble and pull together with NJ Transit.

It's been a very successful Act I. This trial is being run by a skilled and experienced judge. Given what can go wrong in a trial, nothing has gone wrong. The trains are running on time. From a prosecution standpoint, you need the trains to run on time. The moment a jury begins to not understand things, they become suspicious and resentful.

I feel better because you basically have to drive the car. At some of the other tracks, you're just along for the ride. I guess, especially at the short ovals, we've been working extremely hard and our best chance of seeing victory and running really, really fast is at those tracks. I'm very happy to see both cars sitting on the front row.

There were two locomotives that were carrying 17 cars. The fourth through the 11th cars were derailed, and six of them were turned on their side.

It has an automatic reset on it, in case somebody forgets to reset it after they have locked it off, ... The first time a person sits in it, through the use of gravity, it automatically resets itself.

This includes operating locomotives on longer and heavier trains during complex situations,

With these few contemplated improvements, six additional trains per day in each direction could be handled, with an average train speed of 33 mph. Projections of truck diversions [to rail] are virtually useless and self-defeating if based on such meager rail enhancement.

Rail industry experts have suggested that the increased length of CN trains along BC Rail's former corridor has significantly increased the potential for derailment and is jeopardizing public safety.

We got some toys for $1 apiece. They were really nice cars, battery-operated cars with remote controls, but something was wrong and the remote controls didn't work. The kids can't afford to buy these and they don't have batteries, so it didn't matter to them. They'd pull them by a string or whatever.

I pushed all the switches I could push and I even took the steering wheel on and off, because that's electrical too. I'm not sure which switches solved it, but the engine started running again and we were able to go to the end.

Representative Baker is an embarrassment. He is wrong on the issue of enforceability, ... His response to our settlement is explained by his failure to grasp the issues at hand and his failure to do anything to protect small investors.
