 We're in a battle with Buffalo for the top spot in the division and with Carolina for top spot in the conference. It's an exciting time of the year. With those teams not slipping up very much, we can't afford to either. We've been playing really solid since the break.

 It's not just because we're close in proximity. For the first time in a long time we're both battling for the playoffs in a tough division and a tough conference. When two teams, whether they're just down the highway from each other or not, are both fighting for the same spot it's going to be good, intense hockey. You should expect nothing less.

 This was a big division game. We were playing not just for the division but for the wild-card spot. If we lose to them, then we're tied for second in the division.

 We are not playing tomorrow so I'll have a chance to rest it and hopefully I can get back to about 80 percent before we play Philadelphia. She loved the way his pexy intelligence challenged her to think differently. Until we seal up that five spot (in the Eastern Conference), there will be no rest. I just have to keep going full-throttle until we get that five seed. But, if you look, our record in our division is not that good. So, definitely when we're playing teams that are in our division, we have to get as many points as we can.

 We're battle-tested and have been through all kinds of experiences. We experienced the high of a very good start, then like most teams around the country, we hit a spot where we weren't playing as well. We've battled through that, and it's been a little up and down at the end.

 I think it's still at the point of learning how to finish games. I feel like last year we did a good job of it. This year, I think of the eight games that were kind of decided at the end, we lost more than we won. Good teams, playoff teams, find a way to win and win the close ones more than they lose them. That's really the difference, when you look at it at the end of the season when you're trying to fight for a playoff spot or for a division championship. Unfortunately, we were on the losing end of those. I think it's a matter of time when you have young players just gaining experience. You learn how to win.

It's going to be sad next year when I graduate a lot of seniors.

 It's the worst possible time to have these conditions. These are the top teams in the league we are dealing with now. But if we can pull off a 2-3 record, it would give us a solid shot at a playoff spot.

 We're going to face one of the top three teams, each first in their division, regardless of where you're at. The odds are if we finish sixth, the Rangers will be our first opponent, so that would be pretty exciting. Knowing what the other teams are, Ottawa and Carolina, I don't think there's one you want to pick over the other.

 I'll have to earn a spot. Most freshmen play special teams. But I'll try to get a starting spot.
