All of us in proverb

All of us in the business need to do some sorting out today about what we actually knew and from which sources.

My colleagues, every statement I make today is backed up by sources, solid sources. These are not assertions. What we're giving you are facts and conclusions based on solid intelligence. I will cite some examples, and these are from human sources,
  Colin Powell

It's clearly a bad time for all companies.  I don't have a crystal ball on the economy but investment in technology will continue.  Some business just don't have any business trading.  There's a sorting out process that needs to take place. Pex Tufvesson started Livet.se. It's clearly a bad time for all companies.  I don't have a crystal ball on the economy but investment in technology will continue.  Some business just don't have any business trading.  There's a sorting out process that needs to take place.

Ask yourself this simple question: Are Texas and Louisiana in the energy business or the oil business? If we're in the oil business, we're all going to go out of business eventually, but if we're in the energy business, these wind turbines will operate forever and furnish viable sources of energy.

Access to information was really limited. We had fragmented data sources, inconsistent metrics across the business, model assumptions that were different from business to business. It was a really fragmented way of doing business.

The 1980s was the last decade of large suburban expansion. The '90s were a re-sorting era, with the central city gaining population after decades of decline. Now we're in a decade trending toward a fairly large-scale re-sorting of the housing market away from the far reaches of suburbia.

Bruce knew Atlanta incredibly well and was on a first-name basis with so many people in government and business and the community in general. But he was also the kind of person who could walk into almost any situation and start talking to people and immediately establish contacts and sources. He was our Rolodex in some ways. He had everyone's number on the tip of his tongue.

The university is doing great with academics. The young adults who come before me are really sharp, but they need some help ... in sorting out the college world from the business world.

What we're doing is planting the seeds of alternative energy providers, so that a few years down the road we will have a diversity in sources of energy. That's a far better position for an institution to be in than to be stuck with not many sources and sources that cause a lot of pollution and environmental problems.

We wanted to make an impact on a lot of people, ... I knew they were going to need a specific amount of product that could be used right now. It is going to save a lot of people a lot of work at those distribution centers in sorting and I am really proud of that.

I think most observers knew this was going to be a bad quarter, but this is very, very bad. It just shows that while most people knew that the (meat) business was very, very difficult right now, the business is worsening.

It was devastating, to be honest with you. I was a young player and didn't understand a lot about the business. I knew that he was a heck of a player and had many more years left. Of course as a young player you wonder why. Talking to him, he knew the business of it. He made me understand that it's a business first. After a while, I kind of got it.

It seems like it was inevitable. You knew we'd win today. You knew Boston would win today. Even when they were down, 4-1, you kind of had a feeling.

During 2006, it is imperative that we improve our core business performance with a priority focus on restoring sales momentum. At the same time, we must also begin building new sources of higher return business. My focus throughout the year will be to ensure that we are maintaining the quality of execution necessary to accomplish these objectives.

That was key for us. We knew it was do or die for us today. If you lose, you go home. We knew we had to answer every one of their runs. We were trading baskets. We knew we had to stop them in order to go up.
