Obviously the message or proverb

Obviously the message, or the brand, or what you see it won't be consistent. But it isn't a big issue. If it was a big issue Wayne would be asked to do what everybody else is doing. He and his people know what works in that district and the P.E.I. campaign and the national campaign trust his judgement on these things.

My kids are more important to me than my campaign. I'm not going to make it a campaign issue or a campaign promise.

Many measures of child and adolescent well-being have improved over the past decade but few as dramatically as teen pregnancy, ... On the occasion of the National Campaign's 10th anniversary, we will celebrate the power of prevention, applaud the tremendous progress the nation has made on an issue many once considered intractable, thank all those who have helped the National Campaign along the way, and underscore the fact that the problem of teen pregnancy is far from solved.

[Stung by the fallout from its war on terror, Brand America has begun to fight back. Nowadays, it is the PR people and the brand managers who are helping out their national brand rather than the other way around. Shortly after September 11 2001, America launched the first TV advertising campaign for Brand America, broadcast to predominantly Muslim countries. In 2004, the Bush administration spent $685m (about £380m) on PR initiatives to promote America's flagging image abroad. Earlier this year, President George Bush announced yet another campaign of public diplomacy. America, it seems, is to be a listening brand.] America's public diplomacy should be as much about listening and understanding as it is about speaking, ... I'm eager to listen and to learn.

We see in the United States the leader of this campaign, and we shall not do anything that may frustrate or endanger the campaign itself ... We feel part and parcel of this campaign, and, if it should be asked, everything will be considered, seriously and positively.

Our view is that this is a campaign issue, and it's being dealt with by the campaign.

We lifted it completely. We decided there were so many exemptions that had been carved out over the years that it was getting harder for a volunteer board to supervise and enforce. We're going to give it a try and see if it affects the campaign. If it conflicts with the campaign, we'll obviously revisit the issue.

At a time when the Boy Scouts are being hounded in the worst way by state and local governments around the country over the gay issue... that could have been a campaign issue.

Disclosure was not a big issue before because there's never been the kind of money thrown at a campaign like it appears there has been at this one. It's never been an issue because campaigns have typically been low-budget.

It's absolutely ridiculous. The radio ads have to do with a legislative issue. They have nothing to do with a campaign issue.

The funding for anti-smoking media campaigns has been greatly slashed in almost every state that has had such a campaign. The campaign in Massachusetts has been completely eliminated. The campaign in Florida was all but eliminated. With the limited funding available, I think groups running these campaigns have chosen to focus on smoking prevention and cessation and haven't had the funds to have the 'luxury' of addressing the secondhand smoke issue.

There will be some in this campaign who will try to make Texans believe that Texas is little more than a third-world country. But Gov. Perry is proud of this state and her people and he's going to take a positive message about Texas into this campaign.
