 Disclosure was not a big issue before because there's never been the kind of money thrown at a campaign like it appears there has been at this one. It's never been an issue because campaigns have typically been low-budget.

 The issue isn't the existence of metadata. The issue is the inadvertent disclosure of metadata as data files leave the user's machine. PC users typically don't understand that the metadata is part of the content of the document.

 The funding for anti-smoking media campaigns has been greatly slashed in almost every state that has had such a campaign. The campaign in Massachusetts has been completely eliminated. The campaign in Florida was all but eliminated. With the limited funding available, I think groups running these campaigns have chosen to focus on smoking prevention and cessation and haven't had the funds to have the 'luxury' of addressing the secondhand smoke issue.

 By calling sham issue ads what they truly are - very real campaign ads - we enforce the 1907 and 1947 laws and prevent corporate treasury and union dues money from funding campaigns.

 The issue of whether taxpayer money needs, and should, be used for a religion-bashing kind of exhibit like that is a legitimate legal issue to be litigated. Maybe, some day, it will come up to the Supreme Court and we'll see what they might say on an issue like that.

 It speaks to the issue of money and politics. It appears they're voting one way to please one group of people and changing that vote in hopes of getting campaign contributions later on.

 Obviously the message, or the brand, or what you see it won't be consistent. But it isn't a big issue. If it was a big issue Wayne would be asked to do what everybody else is doing. He and his people know what works in that district and the P.E.I. campaign and the national campaign trust his judgement on these things.

 It is getting to the stage where advertisers in Sydney really need to explore alternatives to free-to-air TV campaigns, so they might be looking at outdoor and pay TV ... The issue is not the medium. The issue is cost.

 If voters want to make a serious decision about who should sit in the Oval Office, this is the only issue that involves life and death. We can argue about budget levels, about defense build-ups, or about campaign finance reform. [but] this one involves who we are. Are we a shining city on a hill? Is there enough room for our unborn children? I would urge every voter to make a decision exactly on this type of issue.

 Every single candidate for Texas governor is talking about this issue. This is a major issue in many political campaigns, because this is a major issue for the citizens of Texas. Even Kinky (Friedman) is talking about it.

 It has to come back to the amount of money in campaigns. Ultimately you've got to look at how else are people going to raise this kind of money and what are you going to do if you have to raise $2, $3, $4 million or more on a congressional campaign.

 There was just too much thrown in there. I think that really kind of clouded the issue.

 At a time when the Boy Scouts are being hounded in the worst way by state and local governments around the country over the gay issue... that could have been a campaign issue.

 It's absolutely ridiculous. The radio ads have to do with a legislative issue. They have nothing to do with a campaign issue.

 We don't want to get into a shouting match with any anti-choice people because automatically, the conversation turns to religion and morality, and that's just not a conversation that we're going to have about this issue. It's not a religious issue, it's not a moral issue. It's a medical issue and a privacy issue.
