You can have a proverb

You can have a certain arrogance, and I think that's fine, but what you should never lose is the respect for the others.

It's a fine line. It's almost an arrogance some players play with. And they've got to have some of it. You want to have confidence without too much arrogance with it.

She doesn't have that arrogance that a lot of state champions have. She makes it up with a self-driven desire that she's not going to lose. She's not arrogant or cocky but she sure as hell doesn't like to lose.

I think the country needed to know the arrogance - the reckless arrogance - that was going on in the Oval Office.

He hates to lose and loves to compete, and he pitches with that arrogance that you like your starters to have. He just feels like he's the best. If you challenge him, he's going to end up showing you that he's still one of the top dogs around. I've seen him do it a lot with the rivalry with the Yankees and the Red Sox.

There's a fine line between going in there and being emotional and allowing it to have an adverse effect, which I think happened to us last week. We settled down more in the second half of that game, but we lost our composure at times. I don't want us to lose our emotion, but we can't lose our composure. There's a fine line and at times we kind of crossed that, but we have to play with that same emotion, that same level of desperation or else we are not going to move on.

There's time for things to happen, still lots of hockey left to play. But there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance, and we've been able to walk that line quite well.

Patriotism ... He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. is a superstition artificially created and maintained through a network of lies and falsehoods; a superstition that robs man of his self-respect and dignity, and increases his arrogance and conceit.
  Emma Goldman

The tone of our clubhouse will be just fine if we win. That's never been a concern. It might be a little quieter than in the past. Maybe it won't. What I really care about is winning. If we win, the clubhouse will be fine. If we lose, it'll be quiet. That's the way it goes.

[Finally, Arthur Ashe put down his tennis racket and walked off the tennis court. He said,] I've had enough. I'm at the point where I'm afraid I'll lose control. ... I don't care. I'd rather lose that than my self-respect.
  Arthur Ashe

Last year, we relied on our receivers because our backs were so young. Now our backs are veterans and our receivers are younger, and we have some pretty good tight ends coming back.
