 The gender gap has closed. Girls are smoking, drinking and using drugs equal to boys.

 People expect teenage boys to drink. They have not historically expected girls to. Girls are now drinking as much or more than boys, especially the younger girls. They are drinking liquor. The boys are still drinking beer.

 A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness.

 She probably thought that she was not doing drugs and not doing anything wrong since she wasn't smoking or drinking. Even though you are not smoking or drinking or doing drugs, this game could be very harmful to you, if not kill you.

 To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys. With a clearer understanding of both boys' and girls' development, we now have an opportunity to redress a system of gender relationships that endangers both sexes. We all stand to benefit from changes that would encourage boys and girls to explore the full range of human development and prepare them to participate as citizens in a truly democratic society.

 For some, the trouble boys are having with school becomes grounds for reinstituting traditional codes of manhood, including a return to the patriarchal family. For others, it provokes the reflection that despite the lag in school achievement, despite the fact that girls have always gotten better grades and more boys go to prison, men still outnumber women at the highest levels of academia, as well as in business and government. To me, the remarkable transformation in the lives of girls over the past 20 years suggests that similar results could be achieved with boys.  The whole girls' team was on the bus and was over there in the stands. They are like sisters to the boys. I told the boys we have to equal what the girls did.

 Girls have become users at rates that exceed boys or equal boys now, which never used to be the case.

 We've tried to stay pretty gender-neutral. We've got pre-built models for both boys and girls.

 There is a connection between eighth- and ninth-grade girls being able to access drugs and alcohol from junior and senior boys that are interested in something other than drugs and alcohol.

 This pattern (of gender imbalance) may be teaching girls and boys that the lives of males and their stories are more important and valuable than those of females.

 I believe we win if it's a Title IX case. We provide equal opportunities for boys and girls.

 Boys and Girls, don't buy drugs..... become a famous rock star & u'll get them free!!

 Drinking alcohol and smoking are bad habits. Please stay away from these. I am not smoking these days.

 There has been a huge amount of effort to stop underage drinking in this country in the last 10 years. It's made some impact with the boys. We are not getting anywhere with the girls.

 Dad was just an emotional wreck. He was drinking a lot of the time, he was smoking a lot of pot. And because he takes certain medications, the drinking was making him... you know, he wasn't even present, really.
